Doona is most useful for a family that repeatedly moves from vehicle to sidewalk and would otherwise carry a separate infant stroller. Its integrated wheels make that transition simple, but they stay part of the weight you lift. We would choose it for that specific routine rather than for maximum infant-seat value or longevity. It remains rear-facing-only and is outgrown with the infant-seat stage. Keep original US Doona separate from Doona X and from differently labeled international versions.
