Our Take
The SlimFit3 LX belongs on the shortlist when back-seat width is the constraint. Its published 16.7-inch shell is substantially narrower than the 4Ever DLX, and its relatively low weight helps when it must be moved. That advantage comes with installation work: independent testing found it less forgiving than easier-installing seats. We would choose it to solve a specific seating arrangement after checking all three restraints in the actual vehicle. Width alone cannot guarantee three across, and every seat must remain independently secure with usable belt paths and buckles. The similarly named standard SlimFit is a different, wider product. Buy this LX version for its packaging advantage, rather than assuming every SlimFit shares it.
What we like
- Published 16.7 in width and 19.2 lb weight.
- Highback conversion and a no-rethread harness.
Worth knowing
- Independent testing found belt installation challenging.
- Three-across fit depends on the vehicle and neighboring restraints.
